A single team, regardless of their passion, experience, or expertise can not run a successful project on a larger scale. That&#8217;s why they hold up even today.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It takes the combined efforts of multiple teams from developers, QA engineers, marketing, sales, HR, and business operations departments to run a sustainable business.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Each team relies on a separate set of tools in its arsenal. Project management solutions are not an exception.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A marketing team, for example, is reliant on developers, QA engineers, and designers when it comes to making website changes, developing and releasing new landing pages, or requested features and functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Business analysts can use Trello to prioritize new feature releases based on ongoing feedback loops, competitor research, or data analysis. All while the dev team is still heavily reliant on Jira.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An integration between Trello and Jira, in this case, brings everyone to a common denominator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>How does the integration help?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list large-list\">\n<li>Jira work items (issues) are linked with Trello cards. Everyone can keep their finger on the team\u2019s pulse as well as on individual performance.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Detailed info is visible from Jira tickets and the back of the Trello card.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Non-dev teams don\u2019t need to log into Jira to make or assign new tickets to the dev team.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Trello boards and Jira projects are interlinked.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How to integrate Trello and Jira?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Before we begin, I have to note that the integration of the two products is not the same as importing a Trello board into Jira. The latter process is slightly simpler yet it will yield different results. For example, you won\u2019t have Jira work items (issues) pop up as Trello cards. Additionally, you&#8217;ll be using Jira\u2019s interface rather than Trello.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How does one import a Trello board into Jira?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click on the gear icon in Jira to open the options menu and go-to system.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Navigate to the Import and Export section and click the External system import button.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Select Trello.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Authorize your account.&nbsp;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Create a new Jira project for each board you are importing.\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select the Trello boards you\u2019d like to import;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Name the new project;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enter a new project key for the project.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Import the users from Trello.\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Select Trello board users to import from the interface;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Or enter the email addresses of users you\u2019d like to import with the board. If they are existing Jira users, they\u2019ll get the link to the board. Otherwise, they will receive an invite.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are looking for more functionality and automation capabilities &#8211; importing a board won&#8217;t do the trick. You\u2019ll need to integrate the two products. Here\u2019s how you do that:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Trello and Jira integration<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that the integration process is done exclusively on Trello\u2019s side. Look for the Jira power-up.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If you have difficulties finding Jira in the list, use the search bar and type in The whole process shouldn\u2019t take longer than a couple of minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But what about the extra bells and whistles?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Checklists<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Being an adopted child to the Atlassian family, Trello differs from Jira in terms of functionality. There are certain features of the Kanban board cards you\u2019ll most likely miss in Jira. <a href=\"https:\/\/jirachecklist.com\/?utm_source=scblog&amp;utm_medium=seo&amp;utm_campaign=ranking&amp;utm_term=landingpage_sc&amp;utm_content=ranking_scblog_trello_jira_integration\">Checklists<\/a> are a prime example of such functionality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>These checklists are quite useful for keeping tasks and tickets in order, following streamlined and repetitive processes, or simply knowing who is responsible for individual aspects of a work item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Jira does not support these kinds of checklists by default, but there are certain third-party extensions like the<a href=\"https:\/\/marketplace.atlassian.com\/apps\/1216451\/smart-checklist-for-jira-pro?hosting=cloud&amp;tab=overview\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/marketplace.atlassian.com\/apps\/1216451\/smart-checklist-for-jira-pro?hosting=cloud&amp;tab=overview\">Smart Checklist<\/a> you can use to achieve these goals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Moreover, you can use the Smart Checklist extension to export existing checklists from Trello to Jira via the <a href=\"https:\/\/trello.com\/power-ups\/5b6c33b64d304480bf4d57b6\/smart-checklist-exporter\">Smart Checklist Exporter power-up<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>How does the Smart Checklist Exporter work?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Smart Checklist Exporter converts existing Trello card checklists into a format that Smart Checklist add-on understands.
